Lindström Group’s subsidiary Comforta Oy, which serves hotels, restaurants and the health care sector, acquired the entire shareholding of Etelä-Karjalan Pesula from the cities of Lappeenranta and Imatra, the municipality of Taipalsaari and from South Karelia Social and Health Care District (Eksote).
Founded in year 1953, Etelä-Karjalan Pesula, which is located in the city of Lappeenranta, offers laundry and textile services to municipalities, to public health care and to privately held industrial companies.
The family company Lindström is one of the oldest companies in Finland and one of the leading textile service companies in Europe with over 170 years of experience in the area. Lindström Group’s year 2020 sales were EUR 388 million and the group employed 4,600 persons.
“This acquisition is an important entry for Comforta to this market and the customer segment in South Karelia. We have been looking for this opportunity for a long time and now, after completing this transaction, we plan to develop and substantially invest in the acquired company in the near future”, says Lindström Finland’s Country Manager Pasi Saarinen.
According to Tuomo Sallinen, the City Secretary of Lappeenranta, “Comforta was chosen as the buyer because of its high-quality textile services, the offered purchase price as well as due to the future business development and employment plans, which were presented by Comforta during the negotiations”.
Carner Corporate Finance advised Lindström Group in the transaction.
