Sale of MarkkinointiAkatemia to Søgemedier
MarkkinointiAkatemia is one of the largest digital marketing companies in Finland providing services including consultation, search engine optimization (SEO), Google AdWords, websites, ecommerce solutions and Facebook advertising. In 2017, the Company’s revenue was 4.3 million euros and in 2018 the expected revenue will be between 6 and 7 million euros with profitability at an excellent level.
MarkkinointiAkatemia currently employs c. 80 persons and has offices in Tampere and Turku. MarkkinointiAkatemia was founded in 2013 by CEO Mikko Pulkkila and co-founders, all having extensive technical and sales experience. The Company’s customer base consists of hundreds of Finnish small and medium sized businesses such as Kouvolan Lakritsi and Maestro. Since its foundation, the Company has grown rapidly to become one of the most recognized value creating digital marketing partners in Finland. After growing the Company to its current size, the owners felt that in order to ensure the future growth of MarkkinointiAkatemia, it was beneficial to get additional resources through a sale of part of their ownership in the Company.

Søgemedier Group consisted of Danish Søgemedier and Swedish Defiso Media, both specializing in digital marketing services. After MarkkinointiAkatemia joined Søgemedier Group, the Nordic digital marketing group is now stronger and better equipped to becoming an even more dominant player in the Nordic space.
