Sale of Businessforum Oy to Dustin AB

Businessforum is Finland’s largest reseller of IT-equipment, software and IT-services. Sales in 2013 were over 100 M€ and EBIT approximately 5,0 M€. The company has strong public sector IT equipment frame agreements and has an extensive understanding regarding the public sector tendering processes. The organization employs 65 people and is focused on sales and marketing. Clients are comprised of municipal and nationwide public-sector purchase divisions and from large and mid-size corporations.

Our main value creation components were:

  • Executing a buyer search within trade buyers and Private Equity groups in order to find the best strategic partner, to maximize company value and in order to reach best possible deal for the client
  • Positioning the Company the correct way, demonstrating the Company’s key value drivers and competitive advantages
  • Synergy calculations which were presented to the buyer
  • Transaction structure planning and Dustin valuation for re-investment purposes

In accordance with its strategy, Dustin AB will become established in Finland, complete its Nordic geographical footprint and expand its client base to public sector clients, acquiring a large frame agreement book and expertise in public sector tendering.

BusinessForum gets a strong Nordic owner, with expertise in software resales and service concepts.

Altor Equity Partners AB manages assets worth of 3,8 billion euros in three different private equity funds. Altor Equity Fund III acquired the majority of Dustin AB shares in 2007 and refinanced its holdings in 2012.

Dustin AB

Dustin AB is the largest IT reseller in the Nordic countries . After the transaction, the company sales will be approximately 700 m€.
The company supplies over 1,3 million IT equipment shipments per year.
